I didn't add some overdrive but you could add that to the main verses and switch out for the chord progression.

I've lived in calif all my life and was fortunate to see vanhalen rhoads etc in the clubs.. here's a story that will make you laugh. My friends worked at fender the old shop in Fullerton I used to go hang out at lunch with them. Back then they threw everything away and we used to grab necks out of the trash and sword fight( seriously) well one day at lunch it got out of hand . All of sudden we hear this yelling and cursing "what the hell is wrong with you idiots" that's how I met Leo fender he wasn't happy. I lived 10 min from a club called the goldenwest ballroom. That's where it started for me in 1976 I watched vanhalen open for ufo it cost 3dollars I'm a huge schenker fan but that night eddie buried him. Michael was watching eddie shaking his head. Thanks again for the lesson whenever I played it something seemed off. I admire you I can play but never had the patience to teacher

I doubt the younger generation will ever be able to talk about great guitar players and only paying $3. Its hard teaching the younger ones, You mention Led Zeppelin and they look at your funny. That's great to hear, I would request ' Don't stop by' from the same album but expect John Sykes solo to be very challenging! I saw them in 81 and 82 on the Crazy Nights and The Cage tours, great days!

In the original track, I have always believed that Dennis Played the Arpeggios, so this would have been then been played by Adrian in later years.

My parents didn't want the album in the house when a friend lent it to me, Alice used to have that effect on parents. I met Alice once and he is one of the nicest people you could meet. He was in McDonalds in Orlando airport of all places having a cheese burger!!

Thank you Geoff that’s a great story I will try to record my songs now over a backing track I’m 60 now and have only been playing guitar for five years now . I have most problems with playing fast guitar solos I just can’t play fast .If you can do a lesson on trying to play fast runs that would be great .Thanks again Dave.

Hi @MsLizbiz1 everyone has problems playing fast. Its like lifting weights in a gym, it takes time to build up strength and technique. So of the guides on YT are way of base and don't help at all, if fact they can hinder you playing. I am on vacation currently but you have given me an idea for a lesson.

Hi @retronostalgic, I have been playing for over 40 years, so some would say I should be playing better. :-) My tip would be what I always tell my students, start of playing it slower. If you have Guitar Pro or have means of slowing the track down get it to a tempo where you can hum the rhythm correctly then play along making sure your correct and in time. Then slowly increase your tempo. I know many people on YT say you should play to tempo. But the vast majority of those saying that are not full time teachers. The main thing though is to have fun. Focus on small gains dont go for a home run straight away. Hope this helps

Sorry for the late reply but I am on vacation currently. Here is what i do for my students who have the same problem. Instead of seeing the C and D as bar chords treat them as single notes on the 3 and 5th fret and don't play the notes on the D string. Now play the main riff but just playing the single note and work on getting a good sound as you move between the strings. Once you have go used to picking the individual notes then you can start to add the note on the D string and play as power chords. Hope this helps
